Born in sunny Miami Beach, Florida, Jimmy's casual personality may
seem better suited for the beach than the non-stop hustle of a large
seafood restaurant. Yet when you see him in action in the kitchen,
preparing dishes by the dozen, you realize that he is at home in
this high-energy environment too.
After graduating from Livingston University with a B.S. in business
and a minor in psychology, Jimmy joined the rest of the family in
Mobile and began working with his father, mother and brother.
Jimmy points to the catering side of the business when asked about
his favorite moments. "There is just something special about
taking the restaurant experience, the great food, the equipment,
the skilled staff, and recreating that whole experience miles away
from the actual restaurant. It's like opening a new location for
just a few hours, then repeating that process every time you cater."
And with loyal customers in Memphis, Huntsville, Montgomery and
beyond, John, Jimmy and Georgia are often on the road with the colorful
Roussos catering truck. Their far-ranging service allows many folks
to enjoy the taste of Roussos long before they ever get a chance
to visit the restaurant. Jimmy proudly says that the catering side
of the business is the ultimate commercial to get folks to come to
the restaurant.
When he is not working at the restaurant or on a catering, Jimmy
spends his time with his wife Tonya, daughter Alexandra and stepson
Zachary. He is also an active supporter of The Drug Education Council,
The Shoulder and other civic organizations.
